Have you ever been in a fairy tale world?
When I say have you ever been in a fairy tale world, I really mean it.
Not just in a film or in a book, no, I mean a real fairy tale world.
Well, I can tell you I have been there and not just once.
In 2003 was my first visit to a small German village named
Eckwaelden. Eckwaelden is a tiny village near Göppingen, not too
far away from the well known city of Stuttgart.
In Eckwaelden there is a very well known company named Wala,
which also produces the magical Dr. Hauschka Beauty products.
When you first enter the ‘Dr. Hauschka world’ you find yourself
in a valley surrounded by green, tall forests and blossoming fields
of flowers and plants. Various fruit and other trees are part of the
surroundings and in the centre of it all you will find a building
of an unusual shape. The walls inside as well as on the outside
are rounded. None of the rooms have square walls. The reason?
It is very harmonious to work in a building with rounded shapes.
The idea behind it: nothing on our body has any hard cut edges,
everything is rounded. Even in nature, if you look around, you will
find the same in a lot of things.
A huge Smokey quartz crystal is hanging from the ceiling in the
entrance hall. Smokey quartz stimulates the cooperation of various
energies towards a common goal and it is an excellent crystal for
good relationships within a group of people. This is the building
where all the wonderful creams, lotions, toners and other products are made.
As you enter into the building, you can feel the peaceful and tranquil energy and all the hustle and bustle from the outside world is suddenly gone. You might have to pinch yourself to see if you are dreaming. Everyone working at Dr. Hauschka loves their work and when you take a walk in the gardens where some of the plants are growing, you can see how much everyone working there enjoys what they do. The ladies and gentlemen that bring you to the garden explain all the plants with so much love and attention to detail, it is as if you are entering someone’s very special fairy tale garden. It was explained to me that some of the plants that are growing in the garden are only planted to make the other plants happy, because they will grow better if the other plant is nearby to keep parasites or illnesses away or for some other purpose (companion planting). This reflects beneficially in the products they make. When watching the gardeners looking at their plants early in the morning, it seems they caress each plant with their hands as if to wake them or tell them how much they care. As one of them kneels to pat down some straw on the compost heap, you could almost expect him to kiss it, because he does all his work with so much TLC. The gratitude, the care and all the love from the moment the seed is planted to the time of harvest and even when the products are prepared is what makes the Dr. Hauschka products and the Holistic treatments so special and keeps them alive even on your skin.
