Reiki originated in Japan and means Universal Energy and exists everywhere and in everything. Reiki was rediscovered by Mikao Usui and it is the Life Force that is within all of us. We often use Reiki without being aware of it. When you feel pain in your body like a tooth or tummy ache, the first thing you usually do, is to put your hand on it. That is a form of given Reiki to yourself. When a Reiki practitioner gives a Reiki treatment to a person, the practitioner has had the training and his/her energy centres, called Chakras, have been cleared and opened more. The practitioner is a Reiki channel and will direct the Universal Energy like a strong energy beam into the person receiving the treatment. The higher the level of the Reiki practitioners training, the stronger the energy will flow. The intention of the practitioner is to assist in bringing balance, relaxation and healing to the person receiving the treatment. Reiki is a form of meditation, you feel calm and peaceful and that feeling is a key element to being in balance. When your mind and feelings are in balance, your body will automatically follow. That is why mediation and Reiki are so good for us. When a person begins with Reiki level 1 the path of Reiki will bring them to a peaceful place. On all levels of Reiki life lessons that need learning will appear and ‘old issues’ are cleared. When a person enters into level 2 they will learn about distance healing and can send Reiki to anywhere it is wanted and the practitioner can practice on clients. As a Reiki Master the person is on the path of mastering life and the awareness is heightened intensely. A Reiki Master can teach Reiki and is a strong Reiki channel.
